About transitioning
The best way to successfully transition your pet to raw is a combination of a slow introduction to the raw, as well as the addition of enzymes and/or acidophilus to aid the transition.

Allow between 7-10 days to complete the transition, depending on the age and health of your pet.

If your pet has been eating a dry kibble diet up until now, it is helpful to first transition to a premium canned food to help the digestive system adjust to the moisture content in raw.
Feeding raw food can be a fun, bonding and rewarding experience for you and your pet. These transition guidelines are a suggested format to follow gathered from years of experience of raw food feeding.
Start by adding a small amount of Raw Advantage to your pet’s current food for 3-5 days.

Next, double the amount of raw you’ve been feeding for the first 3-5 days and decrease amount of current food accordingly.

From here on, continue to replace current food with the raw until your pet is fully transitioned to raw. Monitor your pet’s stool as you go. You will notice a decrease in stool size as well as odor. If your pet’s stool is soft or loose during the transition phase, you may want to introduce the raw more slowly. Remember, adding the enzymes or acidophilus can be very helpful during the transition.
Most pets will transition quickly and easily and will consume their new diet with enthusiasm. If you would like more information on transitioning and feeding guidelines, feel free to contact us.
