Slower is better!

Water is used to press the ground meat (which contains 76% natural moisture) into the bag. The force exerted by this water column is much lower than that  of popular hydraulics or vacuum presser sources used by other manufacturers, but it is vital in ensuring less “bruising” to the meat and leaving intact the branch chain amino acids, part of the proteins that are vital building blocks of a pet’s nutrition. This keeps Raw Advantage products closer to their natural state and closer to what our companions are built to digest.

The water-based stuffing process takes 20 minutes for every 100lbs of product; in comparison, the most common meat-packing processors used by many commercial pet food manufacturers push 300lbs of product every minute. It might take longer to manufacture and package Raw Advantage products, but our team believes that the benefits of optimal protein integrity and nutrient density provided by this water-pressure method far outweigh the time saving “modern” methods employ.
